Acupuncture for Neuroma

acupuncture7Physical ailments can be very stressful, painful, and prevent you from living a full and happy life. Unfortunately, some conditions can be so agonizing that you are not able to fully function physically. The strain from trying to go about your daily life while feeling the hurt throughout your body can become unbearable. For instance, if you have ever had neuroma you most certainly are aware of how painful the symptoms can be, but you do not know that what you are suffering from is indeed considered neuroma.

Neuroma is a blatantly painful condition on the foot, particularly around the third and fourth digit toes, and almost feels as if you are stepping on a little rock constantly. At other times you may also experience numbness, tingling or even burning pain, with these symptoms sometimes coming and going. Neuroma primarily occurs due to a thickening of tissue around your nerves. Common causes include injury, excessive irritation or pressure to the nerves of your toes (such as from wearing tight-fitting shoes, or high heels). What is even more frustrating to having neuroma is not knowing how to successfully treat it, or having tried so many different things and having none of them work for you.

There are hundreds of different ways to treat a physical condition, sometimes involving tremendous medical expenses, lots of pills and doctor visits. Thankfully acupuncture is an all-natural alternative, with no expensive pharmaceuticals and their possible side effects needed.  In fact, many, many people have had a lot of success with treating their neuroma with acupuncture techniques. I have successfully treated at least a dozen patients with neuroma using electrical acupuncture to decrease the scar tissue that forms around the neuroma. I use a small electro-acupuncture device that I hook up to the needles. Constant stimulation of the needles on acupuncture points works to decrease the inflammation and scar tissue and that builds up around the nerve.  It seems to work like a charm. After only 6-8 sessions of treatment, most likely you will be up and running on your feet again.

There is no doubt that acupuncture is a proven, effective way of treating neuroma, the only question is are you ready to take the next step (pun intended) towards treating your neuroma. It can be easy to become overwhelmed with the stress of being in pain that it is hard to comprehend that you could really go back to feeling well again. However, after receiving electrical acupuncture treatments, you will be amazed at how much more you enjoy life because you won’t be in any more pain due to neuroma. Stop living in pain, and start feeling great again.
