Everyone knows that exercise in nature makes us feel good. In fact, many of us actively seek out nature based activities because of this. But did you know that nature based activities have long  been used to reverse illness and traumatic experiences? As an example, patients in China are taught to practice Qi Gong in hospital gardens to improve health and enhance healing.

If you have not yet heard of Qi Gong, it is an ancient practice that translates as Qi (vital energy) movement or power. Qi Gong is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years with outstanding health benefits. Qi Gong can help you to:

  • reduce stress and be more relaxed
  • achieve more mental clarity
  • bring your body into balance, improve overall health, normalize blood pressure
  • improve skin tone and muscle relaxation
  • balance your immune system

The ultimate goal of Qi Gong is to connect with your essence. Connecting with your essence means that you start to align more with your true purpose, and with life itself.

Qi Gong can be done anywhere but is especially refreshing when done outdoors in nature where you can absorb both heavenly and earthly Qi. For other benefits that we get from nature, check out my post on Forest Therapy
